INFRASTRUCTURE + TRANSPARENCY
The city of Atlanta's infrastructure is seriously lacking.
Garbage pick up is questionable and yard waste pick-up doesn’t happen. Our first responder numbers are below what is needed. Streets are crumbling and sidewalks are non-existent. Parks with private conservancies are maintained while the majority need immediate attention. Who is accountable for our current situation? It should be our elected officials. As your City Council representative" Mandy will:
Implement participatory budgeting. You need to know how your money is being used and hold us accountable.
Make sure that all neighborhoods benefit from appropriate infrastructure upgrades.
Plan our budget appropriately to accommodate our rapid growth, changing climate and educational needs.
Invest in our school system and increase awareness of apprenticeship programs to build a better pathway for our youth.
Stop returning federal funds and spend all of our allocated federal money to optimize our infrastructure opportunities.
Atlanta is home to amazing and diverse people from all walks of life. We have been a beacon of change for so many, and it is time we made real change in the way our city’s government shows its residents they are important, they are needed and they are cared for. Participatory budgeting works and is desperately needed to keep officials accountable to the people of Atlanta.
